Ensure that they have been in the business for a while and that they have produced some successful CD’s in the past.

You don’t want to get stuck with reproducing old songs for a remix album along with other bands, with now way out. Understand each aspect of your contract before signing it and bring up any discrepancies with the money, production, or marketing of your band well in advance.
